About:
During World War 2 women and girls were forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army.
Most comfort women were from Korea, China, and the Philippines but there were “comfort stations” set up in Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia and Timor. Comfort women were subjected to sexual abuse, physical torture and suffered from STDs given to them. Forced abortions were administered to comfort women who became pregnant. Women who refused the soldiers were executed.
