About:
From 1965-1970 the U.S. military performed an herbicidal warfare program called Operation
Ranch Hand was carried out over Vietnam. Over the course of the operation 5 million acres of forest and 500,000 acres of crops were bombarded with defoliants, also known as Agent Orange. Around 12 million gallons were dropped in total. Outside of the destruction of Vietnam’s forests and crops, the after effects of Agent Orange were staggering. Those who ingested it orally or were exposed to it dermally were
susceptible to severe birth defects, still births, chemical burns, and increased cancer risk.
