Description:
The Geek blogging website The Geek Lyfe asked FabLab to create an award for their 2016 Cosplayer of the Year award. There were two awards, one for the critiques choice and one for the people’s choice winner. The Award needed to be geek themed but formal as well, which is why angular shapes were used for the award.
Challenges:
The awards had to be shipped out of state so the designs for the awards needed to be sturdy. ¼” plywood was used for the base to give it that extra heft. I tested the award’s durability by packing it in a box and shaking it around before confirming that it was strong enough to ship.
Impact:
FabLab was able to show support for the geek community and create awards for people who are outside of the Tacoma community.
