Tacoma Film Festival -2016
2016 – Tacoma Film Festival
Client: The Grand Cinema
Materials: Wood and acrylic
Tools: Epilog Laser Cutter
Description:
In 2016 FabLab Tacoma was asked to create unique awards for the Tacoma Film Festival. The award is made out of wood and clear acrylic and features subtle movie motifs such as the film reel shaped placard and film reel shaped base. The design was done in Corel Draw and was cut out with an Epilog laser cutter.
Challenges:
The hard part about making this award was making sure that the award had a movie theme without being too obvious. The subtle aspect of the film themes were what made this award feel formal but cinema focused.
Impact:
This award was well received by the film makers who won at this festival and has helped us form a lasting relationship with the Tacoma Film Festival.
